United States Marine Michael C. Constant, the son of Riley and Terri Constant of Gustine, was recently promoted to gunnery sergeant.
Constant has twice served in the Marine Corps. He enlisted in 1999 and served until 2007. Constant returned to active duty with the Marine Corps in 2008.
During his service, Constant has been deployed three times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and once in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He is currently serving as the staff non-commissioned officer in charge of Recruiting Sub-station Newark and Recruiting Station Baltimore.
Constant is the recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with three gold stars in lieu of a fourth award; Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with three bronze stars in lieu of a fourth award; four Meritorious Mast honors, two Certificates of Commendation and a Presidential Unit Citation. He is also a 7th Award Rifle Expert.
Paulding completes basic
Army Private Richard Paulding of Gustine has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
During the nine weeks of training, Paulding studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, took part in physical fitness activities, received instruction in basic combat skills, field tactics and first aid, and participated in field training exercises.
Paulding is the son of Jessica and Rich Paulding of Gustine.
He is a 2015 graduate of Gustine High School.
Valadez-Rangel graduates training
Army National Guard Pvt. Anahi Valadez-Rangel has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
During the nine weeks of training, Valadez-Rangel studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, took part in physical fitness training, learned basic combat skills, field tactics and first aid, and participated in field training exercises.
She is the daughter of Manuel Valadez and Laura X. Rangel of Newman, and the granddaughter of Delfina Rangel of Patterson.
Valadez-Rangel is a 2015 graduate of Orestimba High School.
