The West Side Players opened their production of “Steel Magnolias” on the stage of the West Side Theatre Friday to begin a six-run show. Performances will continue this weekend with Friday and Saturday evening shows at 7 and a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee. The drama-comedy takes place at Truvy’s Beauty Parlour in a fictitious Louisiana town where six women regularly gather to visit and share news of the day. The cast of local talent includes, from left, Anna Camboia, Tiffany Gomes, Harlene Silva, Becky Nunes and Kristin Moore. Melanie Braun is not pictured. Tickets are $15 for reserved seats and $12 for general admission. Call 862-4490 for reservations or visit westsidetheatre.org.
