YOUNG  AUTHORS The multi-use room at Hurd Barrington Elementary School was filled with excitement last week as students viewed the newly published books written by fourth- and fifth-grade students. Each class in the younger grades also composed and created a classroom book. Students in Nena Alvarez’s third grade class enjoyed reading through the new books before they were delivered to their authors.

‘Study Island’ boosting student skills

Elementary students enjoy working their way through standards on Study Island, a learning program recently implemented which offers classroom support in both math and language arts.
