The Gustine community came together to commemorate the 21st anniversary of the lives lost during the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

The town’s memorial walk was originally started by Judy Quinn and is now organized by Zachery Ramos, who gave an introductory speech to commemorate all the lives that were lost throughout the 9/11 attacks. Gustine Fire Chief Pat Borrelli and Police Chief Ruben Chavez both spoke and gave thanks to all those who lost their lives in the fight to rescue survivors from the twin towers.

Prior to the nighttime ceremony, members of Gustine’s first responders and the VFW had a moment of silence outside the fire station to mark the day when so many lives of first responders were lost.
