The Gustine Seniors will meet Friday, Jan. 24, at 1 p.m. at the Al Goman Community Center.
Desserts for the meeting will be provided by Liz Owens, Carrie Sanchez, Sue Avila and Betty Pires.
The kitchen crew for January and February includes Charlene DiGiorno and Lydia Contreras.
The club’s next trip to Black Oak Casino is Wednesday, Feb. 12. Members who have signed up are reminded that they need to pay for their seat.
Annual membership dues are $10. Dues increase to $12 as of March 1. New members are always welcome.
VFW Auxiliary correction
An article in last week’s edition stated an incorrect donation amount for a vegetarian chili takeout being held Friday, Jan. 24, by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Joseph G. Rose Post 7635, Auxiliary.
The correct donation amount is $5.
The chili takeout will be held from 4-6 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Gustine.
Gustine Historical Society
The Gustine Historical Society will host its annual luncheon and meeting Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Perry’s More Than Pizza in Gustine. The event begins at noon.
Khaled Bloom, descendant of Gustine pioneers, will be the guest speaker. His topic will be “Speculators and Homesteaders in the Gustine Area.”
The community is invited to attend.
