The New Year is bringing some new and exciting changes to the Westside Connect newspapers.

The biggest change is that starting next week, the West Side Index and the Gustine Press Standard will be delivered on Wednesdays. The printing of the newspapers will now be done at the Manteca Bulletin, one of the newspapers in the 209 Multimedia portfolio, rather than in Galt. This change will not only mean readers get their newspaper a day earlier, but it will also greatly improve the overall quality and look of the newspapers.

By moving to a Wednesday publication and delivery, the West Side Index and the Gustine Press Standard line-up with all the other newspapers in the 209 Multimedia — The Turlock Journal, The Oakdale Leader, The Ceres Courier, The Escalon Times, The Riverbank News, The Ripon Bulletin and The Manteca Bulletin. This will allow our advertisers to reach over 55,000 households on Wednesday in the 209 region when purchasing ads in all of our newspapers.

The Tuesday Review will continue to be published on Tuesdays and delivered to households in the Newman, Gustine and Crows Landing areas.

Along with the change in delivery date, the West Side Index and the Gustine Press Standard will be debuting some new features and designs, like a revamped sports page that highlights our local youth and high school players and a new Pet of the Week feature.

Also, the Westside Connect will be debuting a new website in January with features like an e-edition and our Studio 209 web series.

A community newspaper brings readers the local news coverage that is not found in other places. But it does more than that. it’s a forum for discussions and debates and it fosters a sense of connection. With that in mind, we will continue to be your number one source for West Side news.
