Selina Lopes of Gustine is one of three contestants for the 2021 District 6 Dairy Princess title.
Rikki Silveira of Hilmar and Lauryn Knott of Merced are also competing for the title.
The contest will be held virtually Thursday, June 17.
Lopes is the daughter of Paul and Darlene Lopes. She is a student at Modesto Junior College pursuing an Associate Degree in agriculture sales and agriculture communication. The plans to transfer to a four-year university to obtain a degree in ag business.
Lopes competes on the MJC dairy show team and was a recent Dairy Challenge participant. She is president of the Young Farmer Club and a member of Collegiate Agricultural Leaders, where she earned top individual honors in a job interview contest. Lopes recently interned with the West Campus Internship Program in an outreach and media role, and is a past California Farm Bureau collegiate discussion meet semi-finalist.
The California Milk Advisory Board District 6 dairy princess will represent the industry in Alameda, Mariposa, Merced, Monterey, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Canta Cruz, Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties.
