Vandalism cases

Police said two vandalism cases were recently reported.

Graffiti to an office building door in the 1300 block of Main Street was reported July 16. The damage was estimated at $150.

A vehicle in the 600 block of Bunting Lane was vandalized in an incident reported July 19. The damage was estimated at $1,000. Police said a suspect was identified and the case will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office for review.

Arrest

Newman police said William J. Villa Sr., 26, of Newman, was arrested on a felony charge stemming from the reported theft of a 1999 Ford F150 from an area near the Mustang Peak Apartments on July 18. Police said the vehicle was recovered the same day and Villa was taken into custody on a felony vehicle theft charge.

Stolen vehicles

Additional stolen vehicle cases were reported to Newman police recently.

A 2006 Ford F350 reported stolen July 11 from the 1000 block of Magpie Court was recovered July 13 by Modesto police.

A 1997 Honda Accord was reported stolen July 17 from the 1300 block of Canyon Creek Drive. The vehicle was recovered July 19 by Merced police.

A 2004 Lexus was reported stolen July 19 from the area of Fresno and Main streets. The vehicle was recovered later that day at Q and Tulare streets.

Arrests

The following were among additional arrests reported by Newman police from July 13-19. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Monica Rosette Silva, 27, of Newman, was arrested July 13 on a misdemeanor charge of trespassing.

David Ogden, 64, of Newman, was arrested July 14 on a felony charge of elder abuse.

Odalis Aguilar Vargas, 21, of Gustine, was arrested July 14 on a misdemeanor charges of DUI and driving without a license.

Saddi Gallon, 25, of Sacramento, was arrested July 17 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Nathan Bento, 27, of Newman, was arrested July 17 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Jaime Ojeda, 33, of Patterson, was arrested July 17 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Rosario Rodriguez-Cazares, 44, of Oakland, was arrested July 18 on misdemeanor charges of DUI and driving wtihout a license.

Denzel Fraizer, 25, of Newman, was arrested July 18 on a misdemeanor charge of being under the influence of alcohol in public.

Javier Alvarez, 61, of Newman, was arrested July 19 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Activity report

Newman police received 74 calls for service, reported 53 officer-initiated incidents, handled 22 cases, made 11 arrests, issued six traffic tickets and wrote one parking citation from July 13-19, according to the department’s activity report.

GUSTINE POLICE

City property vandalized

The city of Gustine’s wastewater treatment plant was vandalized in an incident discovered July 20, police said.

A roll-up door was damaged and a floor jack and two jack stands were taken, police said.

The value of the jack and stands was estimated at $150. No damage estimate was listed for the door.

Fence vandalized

Gustine police said a chain link fence in the 500 block of North Avenue was damaged in a vandalism incident reported July 18. No damage estimate was listed.

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Gustine police from July 14-20. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation, as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Courtney J. Carey, 26, of Los Banos, was arrested July 15 on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Maciel L. Martinez, 18, of Crows Landing, was arrested July 16 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

James M. Harris, 51, of Gustine, was arrested July 16 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

A 17-year-old Gustine female was arrested July 17 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Antonio Hernandez, 33, of Patterson, was arrested July 17 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Jessica Y. Reyes, 29, of Gustine, was arrested July 17 on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Brandy Kyles, 38, of Gustine, was arrested July 18 on a felony charge of making criminal threats with the intent to terrorize.

Juan Rodriguez, 26, of Newman was arrested July 20 on a misdemeanor charge of violating a court order.

Activity report

Gustine police received 48 calls for service, reported 97 officer-initiated incidents, handled 17 cases, made 10 arrests, issued three traffic citations and wrote two parking tickets from July 14-20, according to the department’s activity report.
