Burglary

Newman police said a home in the 1300 block of Eucalyptus Avenue was ransacked  and burglarized in an incident reported Jan. 17. According to police, items reported missing included four televisions, a desktop computer and miscellaneous jewelry. The loss was estimated at $14,300.

Trailer, pressure washer stolen

Authorities said a 2014 Hydrotech trailer with a mounted pressure washer was reported stolen Jan. 15 from the 600 block of Waxwing Lane. The loss was estimated at $13,000.

Larceny cases

Newman police said three larceny cases were reported last week.

Packages valued at $42 were reported stolen Jan. 13 from the 900 block of Mariposa Street.

Tools valued at $600 were reported stolen Jan. 15 from a vehicle in the 700 block of Driskell Avenue.

A license plate was reported stolen Jan. 17 off  a vehicle in the 1300 block of M Street.

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Newman police from Jan. 13-19. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

A 17-year-old Newman male was arrested Jan. 13 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Maria Ruiz, 42, of Newman, was arrested Jan. 14 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

A 13-year-old Newman female was arrested Jan. 15 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Nixson Campos Crisostomo, 22, of Newman, was arrested Jan. 15 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Marlene J. Bettcher, 61, of Newman, was arrested Jan. 16 on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Nashana A. Cervantes, 28, of Newman, was arrested Jan. 17 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Emmanuel S. Dunerway, 31, of Patterson, was arrested Jan. 18 on a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Katrina Dunerway Rue Scott, 51, of Patterson, was arrested Jan. 18 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Jimmy DeLaCruz, 31, of Newman, was arrested Jan. 19 on a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Activity report

Newman police received 78 calls for service, reported 71 officer-initiated incidents, handled 21 cases, made 13 arrests, wrote 12 traffic tickets and issued two animal-related citations from Jan. 13-19, according to the department’s activity report.

GUSTINE POLICE

Vandalism cases

A number of vandalism incidents were recently reported to Gustine police.

Gang-related vandalism was discovered Jan. 16 at the Ed Peterson Shelter in Schmidt Park, police said. The damage was estimated at $150.

Spray paint vandalism was reported Jan. 18 to a church building at West and Wallis, police said. The damage was estimated at $400.

Vandalism to a vacuum cleaner and piece of plywood was reported Jan. 18 at Tropic Wash and Dry, police said. No damage estimate was listed.

Graffiti was reported Jan. 18 at the restrooms in Henry Miller Park. No damage estimate was listed.

A vacant home in the 100 block of Fifth Street was vandalized in an incident reported Jan. 19. No damage estimate was reported.

Stolen vehicles

Gustine police said a 1995 Honda Accord was reported stolen Jan. 14 from the 300 block of Wallis. The vehicle was subsequently recovered.

A 1992 Saturn reported stolen Jan. 19 from Manor Avenue was recovered at Second Avenue and First Street with the hood and intake manifold missing, as well as tools valued at $400.

Attempted theft

Police said a vehicle in the 300 block of East Avenue was damaged in an incident reported Jan. 20. Police said the incident was reported as an attempted vehicle theft, and it appeared the ignition had been damaged.

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Gustine police from Jan. 14-20. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Angel Aguilar Garcia Jr., 38, of Gustine, was arrested Jan. 15 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Jose Navarro Moreno, 41, of Gustine, was arrested Jan. 17 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Charlene L. Hayslip, 39, of Gustine was arrested Jan. 17 on misdemeanor charges of vandalism and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jonathan Milo, 26, of Gustine, was arrested Jan. 18 on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and bringing a controlled substance into prison.

Dulce Morfin, 25, of Gustine, was arrested Jan. 19 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Activity report

Gustine police received 63 calls for service, reported 138 officer-initiated incidents, handled 26 cases, made six arrests and issued eight traffic citations from Jan. 14-20, according to the department’s activity report.
