Newman 4-H Club members took part in the Stanislaus County Favorite Foods Day held recently at the Stanislaus County Ag Center in Modesto.

In the primary division, Lilliana Ford participated with her chocolate-dipped strawberry entry and placed first in the utensil identification contest.

Two Newman members earned honors in the intermediate division. Abigail Humphrey was awarded a gold medal and the “People’s Choice” award for her Kentucky Derby pie bars. Zoe Humphrey was awarded a gold medal and was the intermediate winner in the utensil identification contest.

In the senior dessert division, Daniel Gomes Jr. was awarded a gold medal. Alira Lowe earned a gold medal in the senior salad division, was the “People’s Choice” award winner for her fusilli pasta salad and won the senior utensil identification contest.

Newman 4-H Club member Cailin Casey served as the youth event chairperson for the event. Fellow Newman members Sophia Hayes and Isabell Hayes assisted with clerking and tabulation.
