Student Spotlight

Ashanti Tatum, Senior, Orestimba High School

Senior Ashanti Tatum says her time at OHS has been a growing process since her freshmen year. She shared that in the beginning she wasn’t involved with her student body at all because she knew nobody at all coming from Sacred Heart Catholic School in Patterson. As she grew more confident, found her groove and rhythm she branched out and became the treasurer for both Stem Club and Student Council, while also joining the track, tennis and color guard throughout her years.

She also found herself loving Anatomy and Physiology classes due to the enjoyment of learning about the human body and how it works in everyday life.

As she prepares for graduation, she knows she wants to major in Nursing and attend either UC Irvine, Sac State, San Jose State or CSU East Bay.

Before she leaves she wants to share some words of advice for the underclassmen.

“Manage your time and find a routine, and also remember to get involved because you never know you might meet some really good friends in the process.”
