American Legion Aux Manuel M Lopes unit 240 will hold their next meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Green Acres Clubhouse in Gustine.

Baseball and softball sign-ups

Newman Youth Baseball and Softball is currently holding registrations for the upcoming season.

Registration is set for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 18 and 25 at Pizza Plus at 1420 Main St;, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Jan. 15, 22, and 25 at the McConnell Center at 1388 Patchett Drive.

Registration for T-ball is $50, with a $50 deposit for snack bar. All other divisions cost $100 plus a $50 snack bar deposit. 

Parents must bring birth certificate and registration fees.

T-ball is open to those children between 4 to 6 years old. The 4-year-olds must have a parent assistant for team.

Pee Wee players are between 7-8; Minors 9-10; Majors 11-12; and Pony/Seniors 13-14.

Boys must meet age requirements by May 1 and girls (age 7 and up) and T-ball (4 years) by Jan. 1.

Board positions are available and coaches and volunteers are needed.

Dinner and dance

The Gustine FFA Ag Boosters will hold their dinner and dance on Jan. 22 at the Al Goman Center.

Social hour starts at 6 p.m. and dinner starts at 7 p.m. Take-out orders will be available from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

The suggested ticket donation is $60 and includes appetizers, a New York steak dinner, dessert and drinks.

The event will have dancing and a live and silent auction.

All proceeds benefit Gustine FFA.

Fire Explorer program

The West Stanislaus Fire Protection District Explorer Post 935 is accepting applications from those interested in learning about a career in fire service.

The fire explorer program is open to individuals between the ages of 15 to 20 years old.

The explorer program combines classroom instruction with hands-on learning. 

An open house is set for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Newman Fire Station at 1162 N Street.
