To the editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who were involved in the Gustine Volunteer Fire Department’s 14th annual breakfast, which was held July 13.

Without the help of all these people, this breakfast would not be possible.

The following people or organizations either helped prepare for the breakfast or donated supplies: Gustine Volunteer Fire Department baseball team and coaches, Y-Lead members, captains and junior captains, Gustine Police Explorers and advisor Eric Warner, Freitas Egg Ranch, Diamond Food Center, Souza’s Trucking, California Dairies, 2008 Miss Gustine Bianca Tello and her court, Gustine Seniors, Pea Soup Andersen’s, Morningstar, Wayne Medina, Cy Roberts, Peggy O’Rear, Merced County/Cal Fire Captain Keith Hampton and engineer Ryan Avila and Wolfsen’s Meat & Sausage.

Wives of the volunteer firefighters helping with the breakfast included Nancy Bell, Laura Souza, Cheryl Garcia, Doris Onstine, Cindy Martin, Grace Smith, Lettie Borrelli, Jacquie Fontes-Koop, Mary Veirra and Lupe Prado.

A big thank you to all of the volunteer firefighters and their families, for all their hard work before and after the breakfast. Their dedication to the Fire Department is outstanding and greatly appreciated.

Thank you all again for another successful year.
