Planning a get together with friends for New Year’s Eve and need some new appetizer recipes? I have found some great recipes that are not only easy to prepare but very tasty. I think you will find your guests will be asking for the recipes to take home with them....I know I did!

Swiss Bacon Appetizers

2 cups grated Swiss cheese

1/2 cup mayonnaise (do not use Miracle Whip for this recipe)

1/2 cup chopped black olives

2 tablespoons grated onion

8 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled

1 loaf party rye or sour dough bread

Mix cheese, mayonnaise, olives, onion and bacon (you may add a bit more mayonnaise if too dry). Spread on party bread. Broil under broiler until bubbly and lightly browned.

Chili Cheese Pinwheels

2 packages crescent rolls

1(8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened

1 tablespoon garlic powder

3 tablespoons minced dried onion

1/4 cup chopped black olives

1/2 cup chopped green chilies

1-2 dashes hot sauce

Unroll crescent rolls in one piece. With your fingers, gently seal perforations together to make one rectangle.

Mix all the ingredients and spread gently on crescent roll dough. Roll crescent roll dough, jelly roll fashion, beginning with the long side. When rolled up cut into about 10 slices. Place on baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes or until browned.

Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

20 slices bacon

10-oz. teriyaki sauce

2 lbs. shrimp prepared for cooking

Cut bacon slices in half. Wrap bacon around each shrimp. Secure with toothpicks. Place in a 9 x 13 baking dish. Pour Teriyaki sauce over shrimp. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour. Bake at 400 degrees, uncovered, for 20-25 minutes or until bacon is crisp. Makes about 40 appetizers.

Mozzarella Stuffed Mushrooms

1 lb. mushrooms

1/4 cup butter, divided

1/3 cup onion, chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

1/3 cup pepperoni slices, chopped

1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs

Clean mushrooms, remove and chop stems. Dip mushroom caps into 2 tablespoons melted butter: arrange on baking pan and set aside. Saute chopped stems, onion and garlic in remaining 2 tablespoons butter until tender. Remove from heat; stir in pepperoni, cheese, seasoning and bread crumbs and mix well. Spoon into mushroom caps; bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until hot. Makes about two dozen.
