NEWMAN – The city’s annual spring cleanup has been scheduled for April 13-18, offering residents the opportunity to dispose of unwanted items free of charge.
Cleanup hours are 8 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 6:20 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
Loads will be accepted at 1420 M St.
The cleanup is open to Newman residents only. A city utility bill and driver’s license are required to verify residency.
No refrigerators, computer monitors or televisions will be accepted.
Tires will be allowed only on April 16 and 17, at a designated location
adjacent to the cleanup site.
No commercial loads will be accepted.
Household hazardous waste
A household hazardous waste collection, open to all county
residents, will be held April 17 and 18 at the city corporation yard,
712 Fresno St.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Waste oil and anti-freeze, car batteries, gasoline, solvents, paint
and paint thinner, drain cleaners, aerosol products, root tar,
batteries, herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, fertilizer, pool
chemicals and lighter fluids will be accepted at the cleanup.
Load limits are 15 gallons or 100 pounds. No commercial disposal will be accepted.
