To the editor:

I recently read in the Firing Line many complaints about the Gustine City Council and other officials.

I realize that this is America and everyone is entitled to their opinion, that is what America is all about.

What I don’t appreciate is that many people voice their opinion and complain about issues they know nothing about.

People do not attend the City Council meetings to ask questions of our officials, nor do they visit City Hall.

I have recently attended City Council meetings and have learned a lot about what is in the works for our community.

I would suggest attending council meetings and helping improve our community.

Our community reflects our image; this is the American way.

It is important for members of our community to not be idle and complain, but to become involved and make a difference.

Leonard Holmquist, Gustine
