To the editor:

We want to say a big thank you to all those who came to Zac’s Scholarship Fund Raising Dinner. All the money that was generously donated will go to the TOSCA and GUSTO scholarship organizations.

Thirty-three years ago, we moved to this little community. It didn’t take long for us to see how this town and the people in it come together to help one another in time of need and tragedy. The people in this community prove over and over again how big their hearts are.

The dinner was organized and cooked by Mike Lopes, who was Zac’s best friend. We want to say “Thank you and we love you, Mike”. Also, thank you to Zac’s other friends, Becca, Jeff, Tony, Lori, Franklin, Diana, Danny, Ana and Aunt Patty, who each put in many hours for three days to make this all come together.

We were overwhelmed at the turnout. Our hope is that the money raised will benefit many college-bound kids now and for many years to come.

Thanks again to friends, family and the community. May God’s blessing be with all of you.
