To the editor:

This is in response to the letter from Mr. Sheldon published last week regarding an incident with a youth baseball coach.

The events as he described them were an inaccurate view of one side of the incident.

As soon as we heard the report of the incident we launched a thorough investigation. With all of the information gathered during that investigation, the league handed down a very fair decision. While we understand the emotions of the situation, Mr. Sheldon has to understand that there is no way that Newman Youth Baseball and Softball would allow a coach on the field if we thought there was any possibility that the coach would intentionally hurt a child.

President, Newman Youth Baseball and Softball
