To the editor:
I was shocked and surprised when I read about the Yancey building not being included in Newman’s downtown plaza.
I thought that was a cut and dried situation.
They Yancey building is part of this town’s heritage, and since the city already has it in its possession it should be used.
Mrs. Ponce de Leon mentioned in her letter that we have already lost many of our old buildings, and by the looks of how slow things are going in town with some other restorations, we may lose more.
This town is still active and alive with people who care about it.
