Maya Olesen and Adam Romero were recently honored as Orestimba’s 2019 Southern League Scholar-Athletes. Olesen played volleyball for four years at Orestimba, as well as three seasons of basketball and one season of softball. She will be a pre-sociology student at UC Santa Barbara. Romero, a four-year league wrestling champion who also played three seasons of football and one year of golf, will attend Oklahoma State University to study architecture. Romero was also the recipient of an A. Dale Lacky/CSEA scholarship in the amount of $450, presented by the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section during an awards program last week. The CIF Sac-Joaquin Section this year awarded 49 A. Dale Lacky/CSEA scholarships to students who were recognized for outstanding athletic performance, community service and academic success during their four years of high school.
