One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident Monday morning, April 8, at Hunt and Pfitzer roads, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, the accident occurred around 10:40 a.m. when Sergio Maldonado Salguero, 42, of Stockton, who was driving a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup eastbound on Pfitzer, failed to yield to oncoming traffic at Hunt. The CHP said a northbound 1998 Ford Ranger driven by Maricela Mora Vasquez, 44, of Los Banos, struck a trailer being pulled by Salguero, spun out and continued into an irrigation ditch.
The CHP said Vasquez was transported by ground ambulance to Emanuel Medical Center, Turlock, with leg injuries. Salguero was not injured.
Newman fire report
Personnel from the Newman Fire Department/West Stanislaus Fire Protection District Newman station responded to 21 calls for service from April 1-7.
Fire Chief Keith Bowen said responses included 14 medical aid calls, two public assists, one natural gas leak, two motor vehicle collisions and two vehicle fires.
