School district purchases property

Newman-Crows Landing school trustees last week approved the district purchase of a residential property at 765 Hardin Road.

The purchase price is $385,000.

The home sits at the corner of Hardin and Park, and is bordered on two sides by the Orestimba High School campus.

Superintendent Randy Fillpot said the corner lot will eventually be incorporated into future expansion plans for Orestimba. The rental home is currently occupied by a tenant, an arrangement Fillpot said he expects the district to continue in the interim.
