Theft cases

Newman police said three larceny cases were reported July 8.

Tools valued at $800 were reported stolen from a pickup bed tool box in the 1200 block of M Street.

An Apple iPad valued at $1,200 was reported stolen following delivery to the porch of a home in the 1400 block of R Street.

A shoulder bag with cash, a drivers license, an iPad and credit cards was reported stolen from the 1900 block of N Street. In that case, police said, the victim was unsure if he had left the bag in the vehicle or taken it into Nob Hill. The loss was estimated at $1,500.

Vehicle theft

Police said a 2002 GMC Sierra was reported stolen July 9 from the 1500 block of T Street. The vehicle was recovered in Patterson on July 13 with damage to the ignition.

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Newman police from July 8-14. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Stacy V. Gomez, 30, of Newman, was arrested July 10 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Brenda Pena Godinez, 31, of Newman, was arrested July 10 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Jimmy DeLaCruz, 31, of Newman, was arrested July 10 on a misdemeanor charge of possessing drug paraphernalia.

Maria L. Rodriguez Gonzalez, 77, of Newman, was arrested July 10 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Rigoberto Cornejo, 40, of Newman, was arrested July 10 for possession of drug paraphernalia. The charge is a misdemeanor.

Daniel Young, 29, of Newman, was arrested July 11 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

A 16-year-old Newman female was arrested July 12 for driving without a license. The charge is a misdemeanor.

Mariah R. Garcia, 24, of Modesto, was arrested July 13 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Jose A. Regalado Mendoza, 39, of Newman, was arrested July 13 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

A 35-year-old Newman male was arrested July 13 on a felony domestic violence charge.

Activity report

Newman police received 86 calls for service, reported 64 officer-initiated incidents, handled 31 cases, made 15 arrests, issued 14 traffic citations and wrote two parking tickets from July 8-14, according to the department’s activity report.

Weekly arrest and incident reports are provided by the Newman and Gustine police departments. Charges may have been dropped as of press time. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty.
