Newman police said two vandalism incidents were recently reported.
Police said a vehicle window was broken in the 2100 block of Hot Springs Court in an incident reported June 17.
Authorities said a trash can in the 700 block of Tulare was destroyed in an incident reported June 18. The loss was estimated at $85.
Newman police said three burglaries were reported last week.
A purse was taken from a vehicle in the 800 block of Tivoli Drive in an incident reported June 18. The purse was later found on Hills Ferry Road, with nothing missing, and returned to the victim. A vehicle window was broken in that incident.
The theft of numerous items from a recreational vehicle parked in the 1500 block of Armash Court was reported to police on June 18. Authorities said the incident occurred sometime in March. The loss was estimated at $9,400.
A television and XBox were reported stolen June 19 from a home in the 2000 block of Carlsbad Caverns. The loss was estimated at $400.
Police said a local resident attempting to sell a go-kart on Craigslist is out $500. According to police reports, the victim accepted and deposited a check in the amount of $1,950 from the purported buyer, who in turn asked the seller to return $500 to pay for the go-kart to be picked up. After making the payment, police said, the seller was notified by his bank that the original check was fraudulent.
The following were among arrests reported by Newman police from June 17-23. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual is released on citation, as well as cases in which a suspect is booked.
A 37-year-old Newman male was arrested June 17 on felony domestic violence charges.
Mark Badal, 66, of Turlock, was arrested June 17 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.
Jose M. Sanchez Alejo, 22, of Turlock, was arrested June 17 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.
Pamela Granados Lira, 23, of Newman, was arrested June 18 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended or revoked for DUI.
Crystal M. Rangel, 36, of Newman, was arrested June 18 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended or revoked for DUI.
Orlando Zapien, 31, of Newman, was arrested June 19 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.
Ralph D. Vasquez, 39, of Newman, was arrested June 21 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended or revoked for DUI.
Newman police received 89 calls for service, reported 58 officer-initiated incidents, handled 27 cases, made 10 arrests, wrote nine traffic tickets and issued one animal-related citation from June 17-23, according to the department’s activity report.
Weekly arrest and incident reports are provided by the Newman and Gustine police departments. Charges may have been dropped as of press time. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty.
