Gustine Police Department
The Gustine Police Department responded to 58 calls for service and reported 57 officer intitiated calls for a total of 115 incidents between Nov. 22 to Nov. 28. There were five cases opened and two arrests made. The department issued four traffic citations and one vehicle was towed.
The police department took a report of a stolen vehicle around 10:30 a.m. Nov. 27. The theft occurred on North Avenue. The stolen vehicle was a gray Chevy Silverado. The reporting party said the suspect was a Hispanic male adult in a black sweater.
A woman residing on 3rd Avenue reported at 5:08 p.m. Nov. 27 that someone had spray painted the side of her fence.
Armando Sepulveda, 26, of Gustine was arrested on Nov. 27 for disorederly conduct.
Aaron Martinez Valdovinos, 21, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 28 for driving on a license suspended for DUI.
Newman Police Department
The Newman Police Department responded to 87 calls for service and reported 45 officer initiated calls for a total of 132 incidents from Nov. 22 to Nov. 28. There were 20 cases opened and six arrests made. The department issued 10 traffic citations, four criminal citations and 13 parking citations. One vehicle was towed.
The reporting party stated a vehicle had been broken into on Nov. 27 in the 2200 block of Mt. Rainer Court. The police report stated a penguin doll and a dentist play set were stolen out of the unlocked vehicle.
The Newman Police Department is investigating a burglary at Hunt Elementary School at 907 R Street on Nov. 22.
Officers were dispatched to the school for an alarm call. At the campus they found that the screen on the rear window of a classroom had been removed and the window was open.
Inside the classroom, several items had been tossed around and officers found two prying tools and a black plastic bag with a stereo inside it.
The case is ongoing.
A truck was reported stolen on Nov. 26 from the 1200 block of Amy Drive. The stolen vehicle was a brown 1986 Nissan D2, which had been left unlocked. The vehicle was recovered on Nov. 28 by the Merced County Sheriff's Department. The tools that had been left in the back of the truck had been stolen and there was some minor damage. No suspect was apprehended.
Crystal Michelle Lopez, 22, of Livingston was arrested on Nov. 22 for being an unlicensed driver.
Andrew Luis Soto, 31, of Turlock was arrested on Nov. 22 for possession of metal knuckles, obstructing a police officer and being an unlicensed driver.
Jazmin jamielyn Moreno, 21, of Modesto was arrested on Nov. 24 for child endangerment and being an unlicensed driver.
Margaret Sunshine Rojas, 45, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 25 for possession of ammunition, probation violation, obstructing a police officer and a warrant.
Matthew Alvarez, 24, of Newman was arrested for being an unlicensed driver.
Eduardo Haro Ornelas, 21, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 27 for a warrant.
Scott Ronald Jordahl, 55, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 27 for a warrant.
