Charges in school incident

A Newman man accused of attempting to gain entry to Hurd Barrington Elementary School and threatening school staff in an incident last Tuesday, Sept. 6, was booked on multiple felony charges, according to Newman police. According to the weekly arrest report, Theodore Lopez, 24, was booked on felony charges of threatening with intent to terrorize, resisting a police officer and possession of a weapon on school grounds, as well as a misdemeanor charge of exhibiting a deadly weapon other than a firearm.

Vehicle vandalism incidents

A vehicle parked in the 1400 block of M Street was “keyed” in an incident reported Sept. 3.

A window on a vehicle in the 1100 block of Q Street was shattered in an incident reported Sept. 5.

Larceny

Police said a mountain bike valued at $100 was reported stolen Sept. 5 from the 600 block of Sweetgum Lane.

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by police from Sept. 2-8. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

A 16-year-old Newman male was arrested Sept. 2 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Marisol Garcia Mejia, 36, of Newman, was arrested Sept. 2 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Sara Hernandez, 36, of Patterson, was arrested Sept. 2 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Maria Valle Diaz, 67, of Newman, was arrested Sept. 3 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Ma D. Robles Chavez, 50, of Newman, was arrested Sept. 3 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

A 16-year-old Newman male was arrested Sept. 4 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Jose A. Medina Frias, 43, of Newman, was arrested Sept. 5 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Martin A. Araujo, 33, of Modesto, was arrested Sept. 6 on felony charges of false impersonation of another, failure to register as a sex offender and violating parole, as well as a misdemeanor charge of presenting a false ID to a police officer.

Erica E. Garcia, 33, of Newman, was arrested Sept. 7 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Mayra Minchaca Torres, 27, of Newman, was arrested Sept. 8 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Activity report

Newman police received 103 calls for service, reported 67 officer-initiated incidents, handled 32 cases, made 13 arrests and issued 18 traffic citations from Sept. 2-8, according to the department’s activity report.

GUSTINE POLICE

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Gustine police from Sept. 4-10. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Raul Diaz Maldonado, 60, of San Jose, was arrested Sept. 4 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Plamen Krasimirov, 21, of Manteca, was arrested Sept. 4 on a misdemeanor charge of operating without a business license.

Christina L. Ercoli, 21, of Gustine, was arrested Sept. 5 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Elizabeth J. Cervantes, 25, of Santa Nella, was arrested Sept. 8 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Hector M. DeLaCruz Jr., 21, of Gustine, was arrested Sept. 9 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Raymond P. Luna, 48, of Gustine, was arrested Sept. 9 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Activity report

Gustine police received 78 calls for service, reported 97 officer-initiated incidents, took 19 reports, made six arrests and issued eight parking tickets from Sept. 4-10, according to the department’s activity report.
