Multiple charges

Newman police said a Patterson man was arrested Jan. 1 on multiple charges.

According to authorities, officers determined that a 1998 Toyota Tacoma located in the Hamlet Motel had been reported stolen to Modesto Area CHP and began conducting surveillance on the vehicle.

A short time later the vehicle became mobile and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver, identified by police as 36-year-old Rudolfo Sierra, was taken into custody.

Police said Sierra was booked on felony charges of vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and bringing a controlled substance into a jail, as well as misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license and possession of burglary tools.

Stolen vehicle

Newman police said a 1989 Toyota Tacoma was reported stolen Jan. 1 from the 1100 block of Strawbridge Drive.

Vehicle vandalized

Police said a vehicle burglary was reported Dec. 30 in the 1000 block of Grackle Court. Police said a vehicle window was reportedly damaged with a brick. No damage estimate was available.

Arrests

The following were among additional arrests reported by Newman police from Dec. 28 to Jan. 3. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

A 27-year-old Newman male was arrested Dec. 28 on a felony domestic violence charge.

Juan C. Lopez, 41, of Newman, was arrested Dec. 29 on a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.

James Gutierrrez Guzman, 24, of Newman, was arrested Dec. 29 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Monica M. Rosette Silva, 28, of Newman, was arrested Dec. 30 on a felony warrant out of Merced County.

Jeronimo Felix Rodriguez, 47, of Newman, was arrested Dec. 31 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Emmanuel S. Dunerway, 29, of Newman, was arrested Dec. 31 on misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ronnie R. Salinas Jr., 51, of Newman, was arrested Dec. 31 on a felony warrant out of Stanislaus County.

Inocentes Nolazcos Garcia, 32, of Winton, was arrested Jan. 1 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Juan C. Lopez, 41, of Newman, was arrested Jan. 2 on a felony warrant out of Merced County.

Wilson Hernandez Solis, 37, of Los Banos, was arrested Jan. 2 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Betty J. Bartlett, 47, of Newman, was arrested Jan. 3 on misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of heroin, as well as a felony warrant out of Stanislaus County.

Ronald D. Davis, 39, of Newman, was arrested Jan. 3 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Dale Eagles, 42, of Newman, was arrested Jan. 3 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Activity report

Newman police received 103 calls for service, reported 29 officer-initiated incidents, handled 24 cases, made 15 arrests and wrote eight traffic citations from Dec. 28 to Jan. 3, according to the department’s activity report.

GUSTINE POLICE

Vehicle burglaries

Gustine police said four vehicle burglaries were reported Jan. 2.

Authorities said a survival backpack and laptop computer were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1100 block of Lee Avenue. The loss was estimated at $740.

Police said a watch and miscellaneous tools valued at $856 were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 900 block of Brentwood.

In addition, police said, the glove box of a vehicle in the 1400 block of Meredith had reportedly been gone through, and possible tampering with the glove box of a second vehicle on that block was reported as well. No items were reported missing from the two vehicles on Meredith.

The following were among arrests reported by Gustine police from Dec. 29 to Jan. 4. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

John E. Muir Jr., 31, of Gustine, was arrested Dec. 29 on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and a felony warrant.

Julio A. Talamante, 25, of Ceres, was arrested Dec. 29 on three misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Jesse Gonsalez, 33, of Gustine, was arrested Dec. 30 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Ryan M. Aue, 25, of Merced, was arrested Dec. 30 on a misdemeanor charge of possession of a narcotic controlled substance.

Juan E. Rivera Vega, 30, of Gustine, was arrested Dec. 31 on misdemeanor charges of driving on a license suspended for DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Saul Ibarra, 20, of Stevinson, was arrested Jan. 1 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Nicholas A. Pena Loza, 26, of Turlock, was arrested Jan. 1 on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.

A 17-year-old Newman juvenile was arrested Jan. 1 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Elizabeth Rios, 32, of Modesto, was arrested Jan. 1 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Salvador Jimenez Cruz, 26, of Newman, was arrested Jan. 2 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Mario Garcia, 39, of Gustine, was arrested Jan. 2 on a misdemeanor charge of battery.

Andres S. Jimenez Rodriguez, 26, of Gustine, was arrested Jan. 3 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Activity report

Gustine police received 59 calls for service, reported 145 officer-initiated incidents, handled 19 cases, made 13 arrests and wrote 21 traffic citations from Dec. 29 through Jan. 4, according to the department’s activity report.
