Stolen vehicle

Newman police said a 2011 Mazda CX9 was reported stolen Oct. 18 from the 700 block of Oxalis Drive. The vehicle had not been recovered as of Tuesday morning.

Vehicle recovered

Newman police said a vehicle recovered Oct. 15 on a canal bank at Stuhr and Hale roads was determined to have been reported stolen out of Turlock.

Larceny

Police said a garbage can valued at $75 was reported stolen Oct. 17 from the 1500 block of Dutch Corner.

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Newman police from Oct. 14-20.

A 17-year-old Newman female was arrested Oct. 15 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Emarcus C. Tavares, 27, of Newman, was arrested Oct. 16 for hit-and-run with property damage. The charge is a misdemeanor.

Matthew A. Arroyo, 21, of Winton, was arrested Oct. 17 on misdemeanor charges of obstructing a police officer and driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Juan C. Lopez, 39, of Newman, was arrested Oct. 18 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

A 17-year-old Newman male was arrested Oct. 18 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Monty A. Howk, 46, of Turlock, was arrested Oct. 19 on a misdemeanor charge of displaying false vehicle registration.

Jesus R. Cuevas, 54, of Newman, was arrested Oct. 19 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Jose D. Navarro Acevedo, 34, of Newman, was arrested Oct. 19 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Alejandro Gonzalez, 37, of Newman, was arrested Oct. 19 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Scott B. Morrison, 49, of Modesto, was arrested Oct. 20 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Dayeli Kennedy, 19, of Patterson, was arrested Oct. 20 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Activity report

Newman police received 75 calls for service, reported 105 officer-initiated incidents, handled 32 cases, made 14 arrests, issued 22 traffic citations and wrote nine parking citations from Oct. 14-20, according to the department’s activity report.

GUSTINE POLICE

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Gustine police from Oct. 15-21. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Heather M. Day, 24, of Gustine, was arrested Oct. 15 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Jimmy DeLaCruz, 31, of Newman, was arrested Oct. 16 on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Robert R. Labar, 70, of Gustine, was arrested Oct. 16 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Miguel A. Gembe, 42, of Gustine, was arrested Oct. 16 on misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jennifer A. Arteaga, 31, of Gustine, was arrested Oct. 18 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Roy Renteria, 35, of Gustine, was arrested Oct. 18 on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Belen Zaragoza, 30, of Newman, was arrested Oct. 19 on misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license.

Christine Martinez, 48, of Gustine, was arrested Oct. 20 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Activity report

Gustine police received 63 calls for service, reported 153 officer-initiated incidents (including 43 traffic stops), took 28 reports, and made 20 arrests from Oct. 15-21, according to the department’s activity report.
