Newman Police Department

Activity Report

The Newman Police Department responded to 87 calls for service and reported 55 officer initiated calls for a total of 142 incidents between Nov. 15 to Nov. 21. The department opened 27 cases and made 15 arrests. There were six traffic citations, six criminal citations and 10 parking citations issued. Four vehicles were towed.

 

Auto burglary

An auto burglary was reported on Nov. 19  in the 1100 block of M Street. The victim stated the rear driver's side back window had been broken out of a gray 2005 Mitsubishi Galant. A backpack valued at $100 and a jelly wallet with personal documents were stolen.

Probation check

On Nov. 20, the Newman Police Department and the Stanislaus County Probation Department conducted several compliance checks in Newman. As a result of the searches, three arrests were made, and one individual is currently wanted. Jeremiah Jessup Parker, 27, of Crows Landing was arrested for a felony warrant; Christine Harmon, 40, of Newman was arrested for a felony and a misdemeanor warrant; and Weston King, 48, was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant. Margaret Rojas, 45, of Newman is currently wanted by the Newman Police Department for possession of ammunition by a felon and possession of a controlled substance.

Weapon violation

Acting on information about a suspected firearm sale, the Newman Police Department arrested a 17-year-old Newman boy on Nov. 20 for several weapon-related charges after finding him with a gun. Officers had prior information that the juvenile had been attempting to sell a firearm. They made contact with him and could see a firearm in plain sight in the vehicle with him. The firearm was loaded and contained a high capacity magazine. The juvenile was placed under arrest for numerous felony and misdemeanor charges and was booked into Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall.

Arrests

Ernesto Garza, 44, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 15 for a misdemeanor hit and run and driving with a suspended license.

A 16-year-old boy from Newman was arrested on Nov. 15 for felony vandalism and being a minor in possession of spray paint.

Octavio Gonzalez Garcia, 27, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 15 for being an unlicensed driver.

Daniel Christopher Bar, 26, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 15 for possession of a controlled substance.

Victor Pfister, 31, unknown city of residence, was arrested on Nov. 15 for a warrant.

Jincheng Lei, 38, of Los Angeles was arrested on Nov. 16 for driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Leonardo Lopez, 49, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 17 for disobeying a court order.

Jorge Negrete Ceballos, 25, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 17 for a misdemeanor hit and run.

A 15-year-old boy from Newman was arrested on Nov. 18 for felony possessof a weapon at school and misdemeanor vandalism.

Jose Alberto Esparza, 41, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 18 for trespassing and possession of a controlled substance.

Jose Alfredo Cuevas, 37, of Gustine was arrested for being an unlicensed driver.

Christine Harmon, 40, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 20 for two warrants.

Jerymia Jessup Parker, 27, of Crows Landing was arrested on Nov. 20 for a warrant.

Weston Phillip King, 48, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 20 for a warrant.

A 17-year-old boy from Newman was arrested on Nov. 20 for felony possession of a firearm by a minor, possession of a firearm without a serial number, carrying a loaded direarm on person or vehicle, possession of large capacity magazine, possession of ammo by a minor, and being an unlicensed driver.

Gustine Police Department

Activity Report

The Gustine Police Department responded to 69 calls for service and reported 72 officer-initiated calls for a total of 141 incidents from Nov. 15 to Nov. 21. There were 11 cases opened and two arrests made. Six traffic citations were issued and two vehicles towed.

Criminal threats

The police department took a report on Nov. 17 that three male teenagers were threatening another boy. The reporting party said the three teenagers were in a two-door brown car, possibly a Toyota and were yelling threats to the boy that they had an AR-15 and would hurt hom. No weapon was seen and the vehicle left the area.

Arrests

Joseph Aguiar, 33, of Gustine was arrested on Nov. 17 for a warrant.

Dalton warren Duval III, 23, of Patterson was arrested on Nov. 21 for misdemeanor DUI and vehicle code infractions.
