Larceny

Newman police said several items were reported stolen Nov. 15 from two vehicles in the 2200 block of Mt. Rainier Court. Police said two gas meters, a fuel card and an access entry card were taken from a work truck, and a purse containing a Visa card was taken from a personal vehicle. The loss was estimated at $2,100.

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Newman police from Nov. 11-17. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Tina M. Cain, 53, of Gustine, was arrested Nov. 11 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Joseph Ruiz Rivera, 58, of Modesto, was arrested Nov. 12 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Roxana Rodriguez, 36, of Newman, was arrested Nov. 12 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Kristina Pikul, 51, of Newman, was arrested Nov. 12 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Martin A. Araujo, 33, of Newman, was arrested Nov. 14 on a felony charge of violating parole.

Jimmy DeLaCruz, 31, of Newman, was arrested Nov. 14 on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing or delaying a police officer.

Abraham Sanchez Cuevas, 61, of Newman, was arrested Nov. 15 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Megan A. Diaz, 28, of Merced, was arrested Nov. 15 on misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Juan C. Lopez, 40, of Newman, was arrested Nov. 15 on misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Alex L. Torres, 45, of Fremont, was arrested Nov. 16 on a misdemeanor charge of battery on a person.

Eriberto Perciado, 37, of Newman, was arrested Nov. 17 on misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Activity report

Newman police received 67 calls for service, reported 62 officer-initiated incidents, handled 20 cases, made 12 arrests, issued 10 traffic citations and wrote one animal-related citation from Nov. 11-17, according to the department’s activity report.

GUSTINE POLICE

Arrest

Gustine police said Bobby Rivera, 32, of Gustine, was arrested Nov. 13 on a felony charge of intimidating a witness or victim, and misdemeanor charges of making criminal threats and preventing use of a wireless device.

Activity report

Gustine police received 68 calls for service, reported 115 officer-initiated incidents, handled nine cases, made three arrests, wrote five traffic citations and issued two parking citations from Nov. 12-18, according to the department’s activity report.
