Vehicle break-in

Newman police said a vehicle break-in was reported Feb. 14 in the 100 block of Rosetta Drive.

According to police reports, the driver’s side door lock was punched in and the ignition swtich had been stripped. The glove compartment had been rifled through and a bag containing a live bait air pump and trout bait was reported stolen, authorities said.

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Newman police from Feb. 8-14. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Leopoldo A. Ulloa Nery, 30, of Turlock, was arrested Feb. 8 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Bryan L. Beenblossom, 56, of Newman, was arrested Feb. 8 on misdemeanor charges of driving on a license suspended for DUI and displaying false registration.

Samuel Vazquezolide, 19, of Modesto, was arrested Feb. 9 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Ruben Ortega Lozano, 35, of Newman, was arrested Feb. 9 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Nathanael M. Iosia, 28, of Patterson, was arrested Feb. 11 on misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle.

Santiago Gutierrez Medina, 39, of Gustine, was arrested Feb. 11 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Jerome Scott, 34, of Modesto, was arrested Feb. 11 on a misdemeanor shoplifting charge.

Miguel A. Baires Ortiz, 30, of Patterson, was arrested Feb. 11 on misdemeanor charges of DUI and driving without a license.

A 32-year-old Newman male was arrested Feb. 11 on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.

Cristian D. Sanchez, 26, of Los Banos, was arrested Feb. 12 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Ricardo Ozua, 28, of Atwater, was arrested Feb. 12 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Ramon Aguilar, 38, of Newman, was arrested Feb. 14 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Activity report

Newman police received 84 calls for service, reported 62 officer-initiated incidents, handled 25 cases, made 13 arrests, wrote 18 traffic citations and issued three parking tickets from Feb. 8-14, according to the department’s activity report.

GUSTINE POLICE

Vehicle theft

Gustine police said a 2005 Ford F250 pickup was reported stolen Feb. 14 from the 1500 block of Lucerne Avenue. 

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Gustine police from Feb. 9-15. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

A 15-year-old male was arrested Feb. 12 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Roy Ortiz, 63, of Gustine, was arrested Feb. 12 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Anthony J. Maestaz III, 22, of Santa Nella, was arrested Feb. 13 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

A 34-year-old Gustine resident was arrested Feb. 13 on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.

Activity report

Gustine police received 56 calls for service, reported 55 officer-initiated incidents, handled 10 cases, made four arrests, and wrote seven traffic citations from Feb. 9-15, according to the department’s activity report.
