Burglary

Newman police said a burglary was reported June 1 at Mountain Mike’s Pizza.

According to authorities, an officer responding to an alarm shortly before 6 a.m. arrived to find double glass doors to the building open. An interior office door had been pried open as well and a safe in the office was damaged but remained secure. A security monitor was smashed as well, police reported. The damage was estimated at $2,000.

Vandalism

Authorities said graffiti vandalism was reported June 3 at JJ Liquor. The damage was estimated at $250.

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Newman police from May 31-June 6. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Jorge E. Gonzalez Garcia, 23, of Newman, was arrested May 31 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Travis D. Williamson, 44, of Newman, was arrested May 31 on misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license.

Audra E. Ketcher, 42, of Newman, was arrested June 2 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Richard D. Gardner, 55, of Patterson, was arrested June 3 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Maria Gonzalez Perez, 35, of Gustine, was arrested June 5 on misdemeanor charges of DUI and driving without a license.

Erik M. Garcia, 41, of Los Banos, was arrested June 5 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Activity report

Newman police received 123 calls for service, reported 48 officer-initiated incidents, handled 23 cases, made 10 arrests, issued 11 traffic citations and wrote one parking ticket from May 31 through June 6, according to the department’s activity report.

GUSTINE POLICE

Vandalism

Gustine police said a vehicle in the 1600 block of Via Milano was vandalized with spray paint in an incident reported June 3. No damage estimate was listed.

Arrests

The following are among arrests reported by Gustine police from June 1-7. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Leonel Orozco, 32, of Gustine, was arrested June 2 on multiple charges, including felony charges of false imprisonment, making criminal threats, probation violation and violating a court order.

Frank A. Gonzales, 39, of Los Banos was arrested June 3 on misdemeanor charges of illegal dumping into a sewer, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license.

Johnathan M. Milo, 27, of Gustine, was arrested June 5 on a felony charge of violating probation and misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Nicholas Richards, 32, of Merced, was arrested June 5 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Alexandro Delgago, 26, of Newman, was arrested June 6 on a misdemeanor DUI charge.

Activity report

Gustine police received 90 calls for service, reported 82 officer-initiated incidents, handled 15 cases, made six arrests, wrote 19 traffic citations and issued seven parking tickets from June 1-7, according to the department’s activity report.
