The Newman Police Department responded to 109 calls for service and reported 79 officer initiated calls, for a total of 188 incidents from Oct. 18 to Oct. 24. There were 29 cases opened and 11 arrests made. The department issued 25 traffic citations, seven parking citations, four criminal citations and one animal citation. Five vehicles were towed.
The Newman Police Department took three reports of thefts of catalytic coverters over the course of three days.
The first theft was reported on Oct. 21 on Brookhaven Drive. A catalytic converter was stolen from a 2007 grey Honda Accord, which had been parked outside along the east side curb.
The second report came on Oct. 23 from the 2100 block of L Street. The report stated two catalytic converters and fuel were stolen from a truck parked at a business.
The final report was made on Oct. 24 and came from the 700 block of Driskell Avenue. The catalytic converter was stolen from a 2004 Honda that had been parked in the parking lot of an apartment complex.
Erick Ivan Pacheco, 21, was arrested on Oct. 18 for driving on a suspended license.
Hector Ramirez Luna, 28, of Red Lands was arrested on Oct. 19 for being an unlicensed driver.
Dolores Garcia Lombera, 28, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 19 for being an unlicensed driver.
Travis Dewaine Williamson, 44, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 20 for being an unlicensed driver and a warrant.
Ernesto Garza, 44, of Gustine was arrested on Oct. 20 for driving on a license suspended for DUI.
Amelia May Reynolds, 51, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 21 for a warrant.
Carrie Lorraine Deanda, 56, of Modesto was arrested on Oct. 22 for being an unlicensed driver.
An unnamed 26-year-old male Newman resident was arrested on Oct. 22 for domestic violence.
Jarrad Jeffery Joyce, 51, of Turlock was arrested on Oct. 23 for a warrant.
Marco Antonio Ochoa Jr., 28, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 23 for a warrant.
Shawndell King, 43, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 24 for a warrant.
The Gustine Police Department responded to 49 calls for service and reported 72 officer initiated calls for a total of 121 incidents from Oct. 18 to Oct. 24. There were 12 cases opened and four arrests. The department issued five traffic citations and two parking citations. Two vehicles were towed.
A burglary was reported at 7:32 a.m. on Oct. 21 at Gustine Donuts on 3rd avenue. The report stated someone broke into the shop, but it’s unknown if anything was taken. This was the second burglary at the donut shop.
Javier Rodriguez Lara, 38, of Gustine was arrested on Oct. 20 for driving without a license and a vehicle code infraction.
Nicole Margit Borba, 34, of Gustine was arrested on Oct. 21 for battery.
Alejandro Michael Ortiz Nunez, 18, of Santa Nella was arrested on Oct. 23 for driving without a license and a vehicle code infraction.
Yolanda Vasquez, 40, of Gustine was arrested on Oct. 24 for assault with a deadly weapon, obstruction, and disorderly conduct.
