Vandalism

Police said two vandalism incidents were reported last week.

A barbed wire fence at Newman City Tow was cut in an incident reported Feb. 11. Nothing appeared to be missing from the business. Damage was estimated at $100.

A resident of the 2000 block of Yosemite Park told police on Feb. 12 that her vehicle had been damaged with a BB gun.

Larceny cases

Police said a trash can valued at $85 was reported stolen Feb. 13 from an alley in the 1200 block of R Street.

A Trump flag valued at $35 was reported stolen Feb. 15 from the 1100 block of Stanislaus Street.

Vehicle theft cases, one arrest

Newman police said two vehicle thefts were recently reported. A vehicle reported stolen Feb. 12 from the 1300 block of Canyon Creek was later returned to that address. Police said Analicia V. Williams, 19, of Newman was subsequently arrested on a felony charge of vehicle theft.

A 1998 Honda Civic was reported stolen Feb. 16 from the 1500 block of Canyon Creek. The vehicle had not been recovered as of Tuesday morning.

Arrest report

The following were among additional arrests reported by Newman police from Feb. 10-16. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Jose Higareda Jr., 37, of Newman was arrested Feb. 11 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Veronica Mendoza Romero, 57, of Newman, was arrested Feb. 11 on a misdemeanor charge of willful cruelty to a child.

Joshua L. Price, 38, of Newman, was arrested Feb. 11 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Marcos E. Zamarron, 27, of Newman, was arrested Feb. 12 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Nashana A. Cervantes, 37, of Newman was arrested Feb. 12 on a misdemeanor charge of resisting or obstructing an officer.

A 16-year-old Newman male was arrested Feb. 13 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Jose D. DeLaCruz, 36, of Newman, was arrested Feb. 13 on a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Jennifer N. Gebhart, 40, of Newman, was arrested Feb. 13 on a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Juan Rodriguez Jr., 26, of Newman, was arrested Feb. 14 on a felony charge of possession of a stolen firearm and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Mario Garcia, 38, of Gustine, was arrested Feb. 14 on misdemeanor charges of displaying false registration and driving without a license.

Activity report

Newman police received 73 calls for service, reported 40 officer-initiated incidents, handled 20 cases, made 13 arrests, issued 12 traffic citations and wrote two parking tickets from Feb. 10-16, according to the department’s activity report.

GUSTINE POLICE

Stolen vehicle recovery, arrest

A 1999 Honda Civic reported stolen Feb. 16 from Wallis Avenue in Gustine was recovered later that day with one in custody, according to Gustine police. An officer conducting a followup on the stolen vehicle report observed the Honda at Highway 33 and Sullivan Road, police reported, and a felony vehicle stop was conducted. The lone occupant of the vehicle, identified as Michael C. Villegas Harbaugh, 26, of Turlock, was arrested on a felony charge of possession of stolen property and misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of burglary tools, according to authorities.

Vehicle theft

A 1990 Honda Accord was reported stolen Feb. 12 from the 300 block of Wallis, police said. The vehicle was subsequently recovered by Los Banos CHP.

An attempted theft of a 2003 Honda was reported Feb. 13 in the 200 block of Via Sansoti.

Vehicle break-ins

Gustine police said three vehicle break-ins were reported on Feb. 13. Two vehicles in the 1400 block of Portsmouth Lane were broken into. No additional details were available. A vehicle in the 1500 block of Via Italiano was broken into. Items valued at $50 were reported stolen.

Arrests

The following were among additional arrests reported by Gustine police from Feb. 3-16. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

A 48-year-old Gustine female was arrested Feb. 3 on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge and related felony.

Pablo Perez, 24, of Gustine, was arrested Feb. 5 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Anthony J. Maestaz, 21, of San Jose, was arrested Feb. 7 on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance. The charge is a misdemeanor.

A 17-year-old Gustine male was arrested Feb. 7 for felony vandalism.

Joslin N. Chadwick, 23, of Merced, was arrested Feb. 8 on a felony warrant.

Thomas G. Sanfilippo Jr., 29, of Gustine, was arrested Feb. 8 on a felony warrant and misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 30-year-old Gustine male was arrested Feb. 8 on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.

A 27-year-old Gustine female was arrested Feb. 8 on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.

James M. Rait, 42, of Gustine, was arrested Feb. 8 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Johnathan W. Hale, 35, of Gustine, was arrested Feb. 9 on a misdemeanor DUI charge.

John L. Casey, 56, of Gustine, was arrested Feb. 12 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

A 16-year-old Gustine male was arrested Feb. 14 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Mario R. Garza, 39, of Newman, was arrested Feb. 16 on a misdemeanor drug possession charge.

Activity report

Gustine police received 77 calls for service, reported 110 officer-initiated incidents, handled 21 cases, made 10 arrests, wrote seven traffic tickets and issued four parking citations from Feb. 10-16, according to the department’s activity report.
