Gustine Police

Activity Report

The Gustine Police Department responded to 52 calls for service and reported 57 officer initiated calls for a total of 109 incidents between Dec. 27 to Jan. 2. There were 12 cases opened and three arrests. The department issued eight traffic citations and two vehicles were towed.

Vandalism

The police department reported that a mailbox on E. Wallis Avenue was damaged.

Gunfire

Shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 2, the Gustine Police Department received a report of gunshots fired in the area of South Avenue and Jensen Road. The police department was contacted by an individual who had a video of the person shooting the gun. The investigation is ongoing.

Arrests

Jose De Jesus Rivera Mora, 32, of Modesto was arrested on Dec. 30 for driving without a license and a vehicle code infraction.

Luis Angel Andrade, 18, of Gilroy was arrested on Dec. 31 for driving without a license and speeding.

Luis Grijalva Santoyo, 20, of Gustine was arrested on Jan. 1 for driving without a license.

NEWMAN POLICE

Activity Report

The Newman Police Department received 78 calls for service and reported 53 officer initiated calls between Dec. 27 to Jan. 2. There were 17 cases opened and 11 arrests. The department issued eight traffic citations, three criminal citations, and two parking citations. Four vehicles were towed.

DUI

On Dec. 31, an officer spotted a Chrysler driving in the area of Merced Street and Eucalyptus with expired registration tags. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Jesus Jijon, 39, of Merced told the officer he had two to three beers. A field sobriety test was contected and Jijon blew a blood alcohol level of .16 and .15. He was arrested for DUI and seven warrants, including four felony warrants.

Vandalism

An employee was working at a business at 1305 Main Street on Dec. 28, when she heard someone kick in the front door. She checked out the noise and saw three juveniles running from the business. Officers were able to locate the juveniles and one of them, a 13-year-old boy, admitted to kicking in the door. He was cited for vandalism. The damage was estimated at $36.

Arrests

Robert Vincent, 35, of Newman was arrested on Dec. 27 for two warrants.

A 13-year-old Newman boy was arrested on Dec. 28 for vandalism.

Oliver Cueva, 21, of Newman was arrested on Dec. 28 for being an unlicensed driver.

Brian Christopher Oliveira, 37, of Gustine was arrested on Dec. 28 for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Trevel Bernard Powell, 31, of Modesto was arrested on Dec. 29 for burglary, vandalism, and conspiracy.

Neil Joseph Silveira, 36, of Gustine was arrested on Dec. 29 for possession of a controlled substance.

Antonio Romero, 28, of Modesto was arrested on Dec. 30 for being an unlicensed driver.

Nathan Jospeh Bento, 28, of Newman was arrested on Dec. 31 for being an unlicensed driver and a warrant.

Jesus Jijon, 39, of Merced was arrested on Dec. 31 for driving under the influence, DUI of .08 or more and seven warrants from three different counties.

Dulce Martinez Camacho, 31, of Newman was arrested on Dec. 31 for driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Joel Francisco Torres, 28, of Newman was arrested on Jan. 2 for being an unlicensed driver.
