Larceny cases

Newman police said a city-owned surveillance camera valued at $2,000 was discovered stolen from the L.J. Newman Memorial Building on Sept. 2. A male adult matching the appearance of one of two men shown taking the camera in surveillance video was contacted by police on Sept. 9, and told police that he had not taken the camera but knew of its location. The camera was turned in to police by a relative of the adult. The case will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office for review.

A package valued at $49 was reported stolen Sept. 12 after being delivered to a residence in the 2200 block of Clear Creek Court.

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Newman police from Sept. 9-15. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Geovanny Garcia, 25, of Turlock, was arrested Sept. 9 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Enrique M. Garcia, 22, of Newman, was arrested Sept. 9 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Irving D. Pacheco, 25, of Newman, was arrested Sept. 9 for misdemeanor DUI.

Jose J. Hernandez Gonzalez, 42, of Los Banos, was arrested Sept. 10 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

James F. Garcia, 55, of Turlock, was arrested Sept. 10 on a felony warrant out of San Luis Obispo Superior Court.

Ricardo Ramirez Hernandez, 31, of Gustine was arrested Sept. 12 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Juan P. Bolanos Don Diego, 22, of San Jose, was arrested Sept. 13 for driving without a license. The charge is a misdemeanor.

Eulogio Martinez, 76, of Newman, was arrested Sept. 15 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Activity report

Newman police received 84 calls for service, reported 78 officer-initiated incidents, handled 32 cases, made 12 arrests, issued 16 traffic citations and wrote four parking citations from Sept. 9-15, according to the department’s activity report.

 

GUSTINE POLICE

Theft cases

Gustine police said a leaf blower and a lawn edger were reported stolen Sept. 12 from the yard of a Meredith Avenue residence. The loss was estimated at $425.

A cell phone valued at $1,000 was reported stolen Sept. 12 from a business in the 300 block of Fifth Street.

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Gustine police from Sept. 11-17. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Sergio A. Estrada, 28, of Gustine, was arrested Sept. 14 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

A 30-year-old Gustine male was arrested Sept. 15 on charges relating to domestic violence.

Activity report

Gustine police received 58 calls for service, reported 109 officer-initiated incidents (including 28 traffic stops), took 17 reports and made four arrests from Sept. 11-17, according to the department’s activity report.

Weekly arrest and incident reports are provided by the Newman and Gustine police departments. Charges may have been dropped as of press time. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty.
