Stolen vehicle

Newman police said a 2002 Toyota Tacoma was reported stolen April 27 from the 1200 block of Amy Drive. Police said the victim left the running vehicle unattended and returned inside the home, and a short time later heard the pickup truck being driven away. The vehicle was recovered later that day at Hatfield State Recreation Area by the Merced Area CHP. It was undamaged.

Catalytic converters stolen

Newman police said catalytic converters were reported stolen from two vehicles last week.

A converter was reported stolen April 26 from a Toyota Prius in the 700 block of Hagerman Peak Drive. No value was listed.

A converter was reported stolen April 27 from a Toyota Prius in the area of Cinnamon Teal and Red Lion Way. That theft occurred on April 26 between the hours of a 1 a.m. and 11 a.m., the victim told authorities. The loss was estimated at $500.

Larceny

Police said items were reported stolen April 27 from a solar company work van in the 600 block of Waxwing. The victim advised that the theft had occurred on April 26, when three subjects in a gray vehicle parked in front of the work van. Surveillance video shows the subjects enter the van and transfer items to their vehicle, police reported. No comprehensive list of stolen items or value was listed.

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Newman police from April 22-28. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Sonia Bernal, 25, of Patterson, was arrested April 22 on a misdemeanor charge of hit-and-run with property damage.

Ralph Vasquez, 38, of Newman, was arrested April 24 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Lorena Medina-Rodriguez, 38, of Newman, was arrested April 24 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Clyde Moore, 35, of Newman, was arrested April 27 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

Frank Martinez, 28, of Patterson, was arrested April 28 for driving without a license. The charge is a misdemeanor.

Anthony Quintero, 26, of Turlock, was arrested April 28 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI.

A 17-year-old Fremont female was arrested April 28 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Tania Gomez De La Rosa, 29, of Newman, was arrested April 28 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Activity report

Newman police received 81 calls for service, reported 62 officer-initiated incidents, handled 18 cases, made nine arrests, wrote 17 traffic citations and issued five parking citations from April 22-28, according to the department’s activity report.

GUSTINE POLICE

Theft

Gustine police said a trash can was reported stolen April 24 from a Fifth Street address. No value was listed.

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Gustine police from April 23-29. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Teresa L. Babb, 50, of Gustine, was arrested April 24 on misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license.

A 49-year-old Gustine male was arrested April 28 on a felony domestic violence charge.

A 47-year-old Gustine female was arrested April 28 on a felony domestic violence charge.

Charn Singh, 49, of Gustine, was arrested April 28 on a felony charge of exhibiting a firearm.

A 48-year-old Gustine male was arrested April 28 on felony charges relating to domestic violence.

Activity report

Gustine police received 96 calls for service, reported 95 officer-initiated incidents, handled 22 cases and made eight arrests from April 23-29, according to the department’s activity report.
