Vandalism/burglary

Newman police said an apartment in the 2100 block of Prince Street was broken into in an incident reported March 19.

According to police reports, entry was made by pushing in a window. Numerous items were reportedly damaged in the apartment, with damage estimated at $1,350.

In addition, an Amazon Fire Stick remote valued at $50 was reported stolen.

Vehicle vandalized

Police said a GMC Yukon was vandalized in the 2000 block of Prince Street in an incident reported March 19. The rear window of the vehicle was shattered. Damage was estimated at $350.

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Newman police from March 18-24. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Sarris L. Baker, 49, of Gustine, was arrested March 18 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Matthew W. Wolfe, 31, of Newman, was arrested March 18 on misdemeanor charges of drug possession, possession of a narcotic controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sergio Estrada, 27, of Antioch, was arrested March 18 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Jonathan Lugo, 28, of Turlock, was arrested March 18 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Jeanette Santos, 44, of Newman, was arrested March 19 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

A 13-year-old Newman male was arrested March 19 on two counts of misdemeanor battery.

Jessie J. Cervantes, 55, of Fresno, was arrested March 21 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Savannah Saldivar, 30, of Newman, was arrested March 23 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Huelon C. Usrey III, 28, of Newman, was arrested March 23 on a misdemeanor DUI charge.

Activity report

Newman police received 102 calls for service, reported 50 officer-initiated incidents, handled 23 cases, made 13 arrests, wrote seven traffic tickets and issued four parking citations from March 18-24, according to the department’s activity report.

GUSTINE POLICE

Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Gustine police from March 19-25. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Angel Garcia Aguilar Jr., 37, of Gustine, was arrested March 20 for driving without a license. The charge is a misdemeanor.

Jose A. Puente, 22, of Los Banos, was arrested March 20 on a misdemeanor charge of tampering with a vehicle.

A 16-year-old Gustine female was arrested March 21 on a misdemeanor battery charge.

Alvaro H. Tovar, 50, of Gustine, was arrested March 23 on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Activity report

Gustine police received 70 calls for service, reported 139 officer-initiated incidents, handled 29 cases, made six arrests and wrote six traffic tickets from March 19-25, according to the department’s activity report.
