Newman police said two vehicles were vandalized in incidents reported last week.
Four tires were slashed on a vehicle parked in the 700 block of Hardin Road in an incident reported March 25. The damage was estimated at $100.
Police said gunfire may have damaged a vehicle in the 2200 block of Canyon Brook in an incident reported March 27. Police said the registered owner discovered a large hole in a driver’s side window pillar. The owner told authorities that he had heard what sounded like nearby gunshots a few evenings earlier.
Police said a vacant property in the 500 block of Flour Mill Drive was vandalized in a break-in reported March 27. According to police reports, a real estate agent discovered several damaged doors and broken windows when arriving to show the property on March 26. No damage estimate was listed.
The following arrests were reported by Newman police from March 25-31. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.
Jose N. Gutierrez, 20, of Newman, was arrested March 25 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.
Rigoberto Cornejo, 40, of Newman, was arrested March 26 on misdemeanor charges of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A 28-year-old Newman male was arrested March 28 on a felony domestic violence charge.
Sergio Chavez Hernandez, 47, of Delhi, was arrested March 29 for driving on a license suspended for DUI. The charge is a misdemeanor.
Yobany Mendoza, 32, of San Mateo, was arrested March 31 on a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication.
Newman police received 98 calls for service, reported 55 officer-initiated incidents; handled 21 cases, made five arrests, issued seven traffic citations and wrote three parking tickets from March 25-31, according to the department’s activity report.
Gustine police said a home in the 600 block of South Avenue was struck by a number of shots fired from what was believed to be a pellet gun in an incident reported March 28. Police said three windows and a mailbox were damaged in the incident, which was reported shortly before midnight. No damage estimate was available.
Police said a 2001 Dodge pickup truck was reported stolen April 1 from the 200 block of Laurel. The vehicle had not been recovered as of Tuesday morning.

Johnathan Milo, 25, of Gustine, was arrested March 26 on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Justin D. Mendes, 29, of Newman, was arrested March 28 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI.
Gustine police received 66 calls for service, reported 150 officer-initiated incidents (including 13 traffic stops), took 18 reports, made three arrests, wrote four traffic citations and issued five parking tickets from March 26 through April 1, according to the department’s activity report.
