Arrests

The following were among arrests reported by Newman police from Aug. 5-11. The arrest report includes incidents in which an individual was released on citation as well as cases in which a suspect was booked.

Emmanuel S. Dunerway, 28, of Newman, was arrested Aug. 5 on a misdemeanor drug possession charge.

Justin A. Carmo, 24, of Newman, was arrested Aug. 6 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Adriana Haro, 21, of Newman, was arrested Aug. 7 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Benjamin E. Ledesma, 35, of Modesto, was arrested Aug. 8 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Sergio Chavez Hernandez, 47, of Delhi, was arrested Aug. 8 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Jose L. Vasquez Leyva, 32, of Newman, was arrested Aug. 9 on a felony charge of making threats with the intent to terrorize, a misdemeanor charge of violating a court order and a felony warrant out of Stanislaus County Superior Court.

Gary J. Gregory Jr., 24, of Stevinson, was arrested Aug. 10 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Heather V. Salen, 35, of Turlock, was arrested Aug. 10 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Yuri A. Roque Campos, 23, of Newman, was arrested Aug. 11 on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

Jose Frias, 43, of Santa Ana, was arrested Aug. 11 on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Activity report

Newman police received 90 calls for service, reported 90 officer-initiated incidents, handled 25 cases, made 11 arrests, issued 15 traffic citations and wrote two parking tickets from Aug. 5-11, according to the department’s activity report.

Gustine police

No weekly report was available from Gustine police. A two-week police report will appear in next week’s edition.

Weekly arrest and incident reports are provided by the Newman and Gustine police departments. Charges may have been dropped as of press time. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty.
