Newman police said a vandalism in the 1100 block of T Street was reported Jan. 5. The victim reported graffiti on a detached garage and said a brick was thrown at his RV. Additional graffiti was subsequently found. The damage was was estimated at $300.
Newman police said a burglary was interrupted in progress Jan. 13 in the 200 block of Red Lion Way. According to police reports, the reporting party was in a sales trailer when he heard noises outside and discovered a male carrying several items from storage containers, on which locks had been cut. The male drove away in a small maroon pickup truck, police reported. No list of missing items had been submitted as of Tuesday morning.
Police said a 2007 Toyota Corolla was reported stolen Jan. 11 from the 1200 block of Yolo. Authorities said the victim had started the vehicle shortly before 6 a.m. to warm up, and returned a few minutes later to discover it missing.
Newman police said a 32-year-old Newman male was arrested Jan. 12 on a felony domestic violence charge.
Newman police received 57 calls for service, reported 15 officer-initiated incidents, handled 16 cases, made three arrests and issued two parking tickets from Jan. 7-13, according to the department’s activity report.
Weekly arrest and incident reports are provided by the Newman and Gustine police departments. The report includes cases in which an individual was cited as well as incidents in which a suspect was booked. Charges may have been dropped as of press time. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty.
