Billy Franklin Brookshier, 86, of Gustine, passed away Wednesday, March 24 at Memorial Hospital in Los Banos.

Mr. Brookshier was born in Canuette, Oklahoma. He was a resident of Gustine for 16 years and previously resided in Watsonville.

Mr. Brookshier was an Air Force veteran. He worked many jobs over his lifetime. He was a house mover, bartender, cook, upholsterer, security guard, maintenance worker and most recently a motel manager, until his retirement.

Mr. Brookshier will be remembered for his good sense of humor, making everyone laugh and riding his bike around town.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Brookshier; his son, Rusty Brookshier; his daughters, Moana Bishop, Sandy Brookshier, Cathy Brookshier, Stacy Abad and Candy Moreno; step-sons Guy Coulston and Kevin Coulston; step-daughter Kathy Coulston; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his step-son, Colin Coulston; one brother and two sisters.

Services were private.

Hillview Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
