Ronald Freitas of Placerville died peacefully in his home Monday, June 10, 2019. He was 84.
Mr. Freitas, an Orestimba graduate, married his high school sweetheart Bobbye Harris in 1954.
They had three children, Leanne (Edward), Darrell (Debbie) and Stephen (Michelle), four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He also leaves behind two brothers, a sister, two brothers-in-law, and their families.
Mr. Freitas was a Marine Corps veteran who served in the Korean War.
After leaving the Marine Corps he became a commercial plumber, and was eventually Chief Building Inspector in Santa Clara County, where he and Bobbye raised their family.
They retired to Placerville in 1986 and were fortunate to find Tim and Linda Irwin (the best neighbors in the world), living next door.
The Freitases made their Placerville home a place for family and friends to drop by for visits or to gather for holidays, family reunions or birthdays, and weekend card parties. They delighted in creating lasting memories for the special people in their lives.
The family wishes to thank Snowline Hospice for six months of care, support and kindness during his illness.
No services are planned.
