To the editor:
It seems strange that people want to support Tom Hallinan for Stanislaus County District 5 supervisor when I never see him around town talking with the community to find out what Newman’s needs are. The candidate that we do see around Newman and who is concerned with our town (which is as far south in our county as one can go), and then there is Diablo Grande (as far west as one can go), is Channce Condit.
When the candidates were able to meet members of clubs and organizations face-to-face, Condit was there. When the Del Puerto Canyon/SCU Complex fire occurred, it was Condit calling and checking in on Diablo Grande residents. Who shows up at the houses of worship? Condit.
Monday through Friday, I deliver meals to residents on the “old side” of Newman as does another Newman resident on the “newer side.” A “masked” Channce Condit has accompanied me during these deliveries, as he will do soon with the other volunteer. Has Tom Hallinan ever called me to ask if he could ride along to see first-hand one of the programs that would be under his leadership if elected and to be able to speak with these seniors to ask what their needs are, to ask how they are doing during this COVID-19 isolation, and to just say “Hello. I’m concerned for you?” No. He has not. Condit has.
Please join me in voting for Channce Condit to truly represent the West Side on the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors.
