Orestimba earned consolation championship honors in the 77th annual Gustine Rotary Tournament last weekend.

The Warriors shook off a first-round setback against Los Banos to defeat Big Valley Christian and Millennium in tournament action.

Orestimba defeated Millennium 57-44 in the consolation game Saturday to wrap up tournament play on a winning note. The Warriors took control with an 18-8 third-quarter edge and went on to the victory.

Senior Atzin Marin, who was named to the all-tournament team, led a balanced Orestimba attack with 14 points, and Auston Martens was in double figures with 11. Orestimba got scoring from across its roster. C.J. Kinimaka put up eight points, Xavier Avila netted six, Justin Hong and Edwin Alvarez each netted five, Joel Solano contributed with four points and Trevor Heiberger and Ethan Medeiros each added two points.

OHS 54, Big Valley Christian 48

The Warriors turned back a late rally by the Lions to prevail in second-round tournament action Friday. Martens put up a dozen points to lead Orestimba. Kinimaka and Marin each scored eight, Alvarez collected seven points, Heiberger scored six, Avila was in the book with five, Medeiros and Hong each contributed three points and Solano rounded out the scoring with two.

Los Banos 52, OHS 38

The Warriors stayed within striking distance of Los Banos through three quarters in first-round play Thursday, only to see the Tigers pull away down the stretch.

Marin finished in double figures with 11 points. Martens scored eight, Medeiros put up seven, Avila was on the score sheet with four, Solano and Kinimaka each netted three and Hong accounted for two points.

Pacheco 64, OHS 38

Pacheco built a 27-10 halftime lead and went on to defeat visiting Orestimba earlier in the week.

Marin scored nine to lead the Warriors. Martens finished with seven points, Avila collected six, Kinimaka scored five, Alvarez put up three and Heiberger, Solano, Hong and Jose Morales added two points each.
