Gustine’s frosh-soph Lady Reds won two of their three games in the Valerie Lugo Invitational tournament in Los Banos last week to come home with a third-place finish.
Ryanne Kuden was an all-tournament selection for Gustine.
The JV Lady Reds opened tournament play Thursday with a thrilling 33-32 win over Chowchilla. A pair of free throws by Abby Crisantos with six seconds to play put Gustine in the lead. Kuden then stole the in-bounds pass to secure the victory.
Kuden led the way with 12 points, and Crisantos was in double figures with 10. Lily Cocio put up eight points, and Alondra Ortiz and Allison Rowlett each added two points.
GHS 37, Dos Palos 11
The Broncos were no match for the Lady Reds in second-round play Friday.
Kuden put up a dozen points for the second straight game. Crisantos and Cocio is scored six, Ortiz was in the book with four and Yulianna Garcia and Jaydee Santoyo each added two points.
Pacheco 45, GHS 17
Pacheco used size to its advantage to pull away from Gustine in the final round of play Saturday.
Kuden scored eight points, Ortiz and Jasmine Reynoso each netted three, Cocio scored two and Santoyo hit a free throw.
