Orestimba won two of three games in the junior varsity Valerie Lugo Invitational girls basketball tournament at Los Banos High last week.

The JV Lady Warriors opened tournament play with a 34-27 win over Pacheco Thursday. A 10-2 second-quarter run by Orestimba helped pave the way to the victory. Alyssa Trovao and Grace McCauley each scored nine points for Orestimba. Rosa Parkin netted seven, Taylor Gray was in the scorebook with five points and Adriana Rocha put up four.

Los Banos 39, OHS 30

Host Los Banos jumped out to a nine-point lead after a quarter and went on to defeat Orestimba in second-round play Friday. Parkin scored 11 points and Trovao was in double figures with 10. Joslyn Sotelo chipped in with four points, McCauley and Alia Valenzuela each scored two and Rocha hit a free throw.

OHS 40, Dos Palos 7

Orestimba outscored the Broncos 29-0 over the middle two quarters in a dominating performance Saturday to conclude the tournament on a winning note. Parkin led OHS with 13 points and Trovao was in double figures with 12. Valenzuela scored seven points, Gray finished with four and Sotelo and Alyssa Cordova each had two points.

Lathrop 48, OHS 21

Orestimba was unable to overcome a slow start in a non-league game at Lathrop to open the week. The JV Lady Warriors trailed 29-11 at the half. McCauley put up eight points to lead OHS. Sotelo scored four, while Trovao, Gray and Parkin each had three points on the night.
