A second-half rally lifted visiting Gustine past Orestimba in junior varsity boys basketball action Friday.
The Reds trailed 30-25 at the half, but came back to win it 59-52. Gustine controlled play down the stretch, outscoring Orestimba 20-11 in the fourth quarter.
Alejandro Lugo and Mateo Gallichio shouldered the scoring load for the JV Reds, finishing with 23 and 20 points respectively.
Tyler Borba put up seven points for the Reds, Gio Torres added six and Angel Toledo collected three points on the night.
Mitch Pacheco led Orestimba with 22 points on the night, and Jayden Vargas was in double figures with 10. Juan Alvarado finished with nine points, Cyrus Carpenter netted five, Dejon Davenport scored four and Connor Reeves rounded out the scoring with two points.
Earlier in the week, Gustine defeated Delhi 33-30 while Orestimba dropped a 45-28 decision to Waterford.
