Orestimba collected a pair of wins in a Tracy girls basketball tournament last week before suffering a third-round setback.
The West Siders dominated Franklin in opening round play Thursday, posting a 40-22 victory. Orestimba jumped out to a 12-1 first-quarter lead, and had the game well in hand with a 36-14 lead heading into the final eight minutes.
Ciera Thibodeau led a balanced scoring attack with nine points. Jade Robinson netted eight, Elizabeth Lilly, Rubi Parra and Sarah Millan each netted four, Jessica Villarreal, Reagan Marroquin and Allison Trovao each scored three and Adriana Rocha collected two points.
OHS 49, Tokay 35
Orestimba continued its winning ways at Tokay’s expense in second-round play Friday.
The Lady Warriors again started quickly, building an 18-9 lead in the first quarter. A 12-2 second-quarter run all but sealed the outcome, sending OHS into intermission with a 30-11 lead.
Villarreal put up 15 points to lead Orestimba, and Thibodeau was in double figures with 13. Robinson was in the book with seven points, Marroquin and Millan each netted six and Parra rounded out the scoring with two.
East Union 60, OHS 28
A strong East Union team derailed the Lady Warriors in third-round play Saturday.
The Lancers were in control from the start, leading 17-4 after a quarter and 37-11 at the half.
Thibodeau put up 11 points to lead the West Siders. Robinson finished with eight, Marroquin scored four, Rocha and Parra each netted two and Jazlyn Tucker added a free throw.
Orestimba wrapped up play in the Tracy Breakfast Lions/Tom Hawkins tournament Monday against Ripon.
