Top-seeded Argonaut lived up to its billing at the expense of visiting Orestimba in Division V section baseball playoff action last Tuesday.

The Mustangs posted a 16-0, five-inning victory to end Orestimba’s season.

After the two teams traded one-two-three innings in the first, the floodgates opened for Argonaut in the second. Orestimba recorded the first out of the inning routinely - only to see the next 10 Argonaut hitters reach base and score before the Warriors could get off the field.

The Mustangs plated six more runs in the third before closing out the abbreviated victory.

Orestimba bats were quiet through the first four innings.

The Warriors made a late bid to avoid the shutout, when Julian Lemus and Tryston Martens singled with two out in the fifth, but Orestimba was unable to push a run across.

Ethan Medeiros was the only other Warrior to reach base. He drew a lead-off walk in the second.
